Course Description

The Finance for Non-finance Roles course will teach fundamental financial knowledge to those without a background in finance or accounting. This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and essential tools to understand and use key financial reports, including financial statements and budgets.

The outcome of this course will be the foundation of understanding financial reports and terminology as well as awareness of how to use this information in decision-making and evaluation of financial forecasts.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the basics of financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
  • Learn financial terminology and general financial principles.
  • Learn how to analyze and interpret financial reports.
  • Understand how information from financial statements may be used to make strategic decisions.
  • Learn the basics of forecasting and budgeting.
