Course Description

Public school staff and educational leaders will acquire knowledge and understanding of Community Learning Exchange (CLE) axioms (Guajardo et al., 2016), ecologies of knowing, and pedagogies as tools for interactively engaging school and community partners.

Participants will be able to:

1. Explain CLE axioms and philosophies to deepen understanding of self, organization, and community to identify assets and opportunities for collaboration (part I).

2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding through written reflections, artifacts, discussions in small groups and with coaches, and submitted artifacts (part I).

3. Demonstrate ability to use CLE pedagogies in meetings and professional development within their own organization as evidenced through meeting agendas, notes, and coach feedback (part I & II).

4. Demonstrate ability to use knowledge and learned skills to facilitate a CLE involving participants from multiple stakeholder groups. Documentation through agendas, artifacts generated from the CLE, and participant reflections (part I & II).
